This is Silvanus, a 6m Roman sculpture marking Scotland’s Roman connection with the Antonine wall.
The wall ran across the country from the Clyde to the Forth and was built around AD 142 marking the northern Roman boundary. Most of it has gone now but if you enjoy walking then you can follow its route through some great scenery and visit some Roman ruins as well.
