The borders of Scotland are often overlooked but they are steeped in history and are a beautiful part of the country.

You start the day by being picked up at your hotel and then travel south into the scenic lowlands of Scotland where you will visit the following places :

Rosslyn Chapel made famous by the book and film “The Da Vinci Code”, built in the middle 1400’s, this church has an amazing history and architecture for you to discover.

We will also visit the majestic Abbotsford House and Gardens, the home to our writer and poet Sir Walter Scott, and see how he lived his life.

We will then visit the ancient pretty town of Melrose with time to explore, then on to visit Melrose Cathedral, the resting place of the heart of our King, Robert the Bruce.

We will then take in the stunning view of the Scott’s viewpoint, one of Sir Walter Scott’s favourite places to relax.

After this we will take a short country walk to one of the largest statues of our freedom fighter, Sir William Wallace of Braveheart fame, and hear about his fight against the English.

We will then return north back to your hotel.
